Books to Enjoy Beside Harry Potter

             If you happen to be looking for another series to invest your time, minus the magical theme, try the Chaos Walking Series by Patrick Ness. The first book title “The Knife of Never Letting Go” might seem weird and incomprehensible to what the book may entail but let me tell you to give all the books a read.

                The book start out with a boy name Todd. He tells you in his world, your every thoughts and feelings can be heard by others. And his life is more annoyed by his talking dog Manchee and his boring small town with only men around. But don't stop there. As you keep reading your going to be introduce to a girl name Viola and Todd's fight against what others had deem to be his future.

                 Yes, this is more science fiction than fantasy, but as you keep going through the series you will be invested in Todd, Manchee (yes even the dog), Viola, and even antagonist like Prentiss Jr, and the Mayor. It will make you cry, get angry, and simply happy as Todd grow into a man, fighting in a war he never wanted, falling for a girl, and realizing his potential to lead and influence others for a better future.

                Although it is set in the future, don't expect futuristic weapons; like ray guns. The author set the scene more like the wild west where people ride horses, fire rifles and six shooters. But what I love most about this book is the war theme and how leaders are sometimes made and at other created. And the ending was a delight. You won't be disappointed. There are total of three books:

3. Monsters of Men

So hurry and get started and I guarantee this series will be one of your life's little joy.
